Officers have recovered an air pistol in the undergrowth near the Lesnes Abbey Ruins this afternoon.
The Estate Manager and his staff discovered the air pistol discarded in the woods near the ruins.
Officers were alerted and found that even though it was old and rusty, it could still be used.
Belvedere police have now destroyed the pistol and that's one more weapon off the streets.
