A half marathon taking place later this month is set to benefit local charities in Croydon.

On Sunday March 31, runners will take to Croydon's streets for the seventh time to conquer a 13 mile circuit.

Profits raised from entry fees and sponsors will benefit two local charities, Good Gym, which combines running with community outreach work, and St Christopher's, which offers palliative care to the elderly.

Davinia Catlin, owner of sponsor sports store The Winning Margin, said: “We are delighted to lend our support to the Croydon Half Marathon by providing technical t-shirts to all the runners,”

“We know that runners love a technical t-shirt to commemorate an event they have completed.

"We hope to encourage more runners to take part and that, in turn, will encourage more funds to be raised for the local charities in Croydon.”

In recognition of Mayor Bernadette Khan's attendance, funds will also be donated to Cancer Research UK, the charity she champions.

Croydon-based family-run Wings Transport Ltd is once again the headline sponsor of the Croydon Half Marathon.

Its support has helped fund bespoke designer medals for all finishers, depicting Croydon landmarks and commemorating the race date.

New this year is secondary sponsor The Winning Margin, Croydon’s recently opened community sports store.

It is providing technical running T-shirts for all finishers to commemorate the event and offer a 10% discount across the store until April 30th for all those who run the Croydon Half.

Croydon Half Marathon entries are selling well but there are still places available.
