Train commuters are facing delays to their journeys this morning as a fire next to a train track has blocked all railway lines through Purley station.
Southern Rail says the incident means services may be cancelled or delayed, however, National Rail says disruption is expected to last until 12 noon today (March 12).
The following stations are currently not being served:
- Tattenham Corner
- Tadworth
- Kingswood
- Chipstead
- Woodmansterne
- Coulsdon Town
- Reedham
- Kenley
- Whyteleafe
- Whyteleafe South
- Caterham
A rail replacement bus service is in operation, which will serve Tattenham Corner to Purley and Caterham to Purley.
Buses will be running in both directions and be managed by station staff, so passengers are advised to speak to them on arrival.
Southern is currently accepting tickets on South Western Railway from Epsom to London Waterloo, on Metrobus routes 460 and 480, as well as TfL bus routes between London and Croydon.
