A campaign has been launched in Sutton to collect chocolate eggs for donation to the less fortunate this Easter – and here’s how you can help.

Sutton Volunteer Centre is supporting the community initiative being led by ShareTheMiracle, helping individuals and organisations “build stronger communities through acts of kindness”.

The chocolate eggs are donated and collected by “stations” – which include businesses, churches, schools and various voluntary groups.

They are then distributed to those less fortunate, including the elderly, people with disabilities and young people.

ShareTheMiracle was started in Sutton and Sutton-based Reed Business Information was one of the first businesses to get involved.

RBI, which is the risk and business analytics market segment of RELX, has seen its employees donate more than 1,500 eggs since 2016.

They have distributed eggs to charities and communities alongside Sutton Volunteer Centre, including Sutton Carers Centre, MAPS, Onside Soccer, Horizon and more.

Sutton Police will also be helping to distribute the eggs this year.

Julie Lever, RBI’s charity development executive, said: “We really enjoyed being part of the initiative. It enabled us to connect with local charities and we were very touched by how pleased they were to receive the eggs.

“ShareTheMiracle has proved an effective way to engage employees as part of our CSR strategy to support our local community.”
