A Kingston business launched their annual Easter egg hunt to raise awareness and chocolate eggs for UK charities including Momentum Children's Charity.

Access Self Storage, who are based in Kingston, have held Easter egg hunts in their large storage spaces in Kingston in recent years for charitable causes in the UK including Momentum, a charity based in the area that supports children with cancer and life-challenging conditions.

With over 1,100 Easter eggs collected for UK charities in 2018, and 50 of those collected in Kingston, the team are hoping to smash last year’s record for their nominated charity.

Kingston Store manager Tracy Probert said: "Momentum Children’s charity is incredible to support. We had such a successful Christmas appeal, that we now urge the community to dig deep once more, this time for chocolate!"

Bianca Effemey, Founder and CEO of Momentum Children’s Charity, meanwhile anticipated the positive effects of the project and praised the hunt: "We are thrilled to be chosen by Access Self Storage Kingston as the beneficiary of this year’s Easter egg collection. Our support workers will distribute the chocolate eggs to families we support, at home and within local hospitals.

"It will be an unexpected surprise, and it will certainly put a smile on the face of the children and their siblings. We are so grateful to appeals like this which help increase awareness of the work we do within our local community."

Staff have already begun collecting eggs and people are invited to bring donations for Momentum Children’s Charity into the Kingston Store at Norbiton Station, any time before April 15 when a delivery will be made in time for Easter.

This year 16 Access Self Storage Stores will set aside a combined 800 ft of storage space to be filled with Chocolate Easter eggs for 16 charities across the UK.

More than 4,900 chocolate eggs have been donated to UK charities since the Access Self Storage Easter Appeal launched in 2011, weighing in at more than a ton of chocolate.
