A Llandudno pub is taking on a new lease of life and is set to re-open as a wine and ale house.

The Snowdon, a long-established back street pub owned by Stange & Co, has been a popular watering hole for years for many residents and visitors, renowned for its great beers, interesting décor, sunny terrace and perhaps the worst gents’ toilets in town.

The Snowdon's general manager, Paul Meredith said the aim of the refurbishment was to continue the good reputation the place already has with the addition of a homely/relaxing new interior, new outside furniture and Llandudno’s best gents toilets.

Mr Meredith said: “Our aim is to create that cracking back-street pub we all wish we had in walking distance of home, with a selection of quality cask ales, quality wines available by the glass and a quality bit of food at lunchtime.

"All this hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, so you can be assured of a friendly and buzzy atmosphere where conversation flows."

The addition of the lunchtime food adds a new element to The Snowdon with a selection of toasted sandwiches and creative sharing platters.

Stange and Co brought The Snowdon in 1997, in a poor state. Over the years they have give the site plenty of TLC breathing new life into The Snowdon and under Mr Meredith's stewardship created a bustling little local.

Time thas taken its toll over the years and it was decided recently to give the place a full makeover and bring the Snowdon in line with the other pubs in the group.
