A man received serious burns to his hand after a garage caught alight in Dartford on Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to Maple Road shortly after 11am to reports of a domestic garage on fire.

Two fire engines were deployed and crews wearing breathing apparatus managed to control the flames using a compressed air foam system.

The man was treated for his burns by paramedics on the scene from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
