The art teacher at Blackheath High School said students blew her away after their annual fashion show.

Over 80 students contributed as roles of designers, models, performers, film makers, hair and make-up artists and technical supports.

Imogen Gilbert, the school’s art teacher, said: "The fashion show provides a great opportunity for the girls to use their creativity in harnessing the skills they have picked up in their Art and Textiles classes.

"Every year the designs are of a high standard but this year the girls really blew me away in terms of their ambition and execution."

Headteacher Carol Chandler-Thompson said: "One of the great outcomes from our recent £18 million school redevelopment was the creation of the new art and textiles studios.

"It was wonderful to see the students take advantage of the new state-of-the-art resources you’d normally expect to find at a university at their disposal and put on such a brilliant show."
