A man from New Malden arrested for attacking a fellow reveller at a nightclub in Guildford last year has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Surrey Police announced today that Shanmuoarajah Prasanth, 28, was charged with GBH following an assault that took place at The Casino nightclub in Guildford last year, October 14.

Surrey Police said: "Shanmuoarajah Prasanth, 28, from New Malden, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on February 26, 2019."

Three men were arrested following the 2018 incident and were later released under investigation. Mr Prasanth is believed to be the only suspect charged with an offence at present.

In the immediate wake of the event last October, Surrey Police said the victim suffered multiple fractures to their head and face after being assaulted by several men.
