Firefighters brought a blaze under control in Thornton Heath this afternoon.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to Bensham Manor Road at 12.16pm.
Most of the first floor and part of the roof of the mid-terraced house are alight. The fire was brought under control by 13.21pm.
Fire crews from Norbury, Croydon, Beckenham and Forest Hill fire stations are at the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
