A young cystic fibrosis patient and Chelsea fan was given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet his heroes.

Thanks to Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity, Johnny Finch, 8, of Richmond met Chelsea's first team at an open training session earlier this week.

Johnny is a cystic fibrosis patient, under the care of Royal Brompton Hospital. With the help of the charity and Chelsea Foundation, he was invited to watch the Premier League side training at their Cobham ground, before getting the opportunity for photos and autographs.

He got to meet defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill as well as midfielders N'Golo Kanté and Willian.

Johnny’s mum Louise accompanied him on the visit. She said: “Meeting the Chelsea first team and watching the players train is surely the stuff of dreams and if came true for our little boy, Johnny.

"The players were wonderful and so friendly, taking time to chat and sign autographs. Johnny was completely overwhelmed but hasn’t stopped talking about Chelsea since and is wrapped up tight in his new scarf.

"A magical morning, huge thanks to Royal Brompton & Harefield Charity, and of course Chelsea FC.”
