The big freeze which has had us all glued to the weather channel over the last week will now be replaced with a lot of rain.

But that doesn't mean we can't reminisce on what used to be.

The Met Office has announced that Britain will return to a "more traditional winter" in the coming weeks.

Snow, ice and plunging temperatures caused treacherous conditions from Thursday into the weekend across vast swathes of the UK.

Nothing demonstrated this more than a video captured by the crew at the Wimbledon Park Watersports Centre.

But unfortunately it might not be a sight seen again for quite some while.

With England recording the coldest night of the winter so far on Saturday night, Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said "things are gradually getting back to normal".

On Wednesday it is meant to get up to 11C, practically boiling.

It is still very wet outside so please take care when out and about.
