"Crow-proof" bins are set to be installed around Wallington Green in a bid to crack down on the birds littering.
Sutton Council insists crows are responsible for removing rubbish from bins in the area before it “blows about on the green” and causes issues.
But after proposals received more than £1,000 in financial backing, councillors have approved the decision to replace green litter bins on the green with larger, black heritage ones with lids.
Money will be deducted from the council’s public realm budget to fund the initiative after it received the green light.
