An iconic chicken shop in Thornton Heath has served its last wing.
Morley's, on Thornton Heath high street, gained global fame after featuring in a viral chicken shop review series on youtube, The Pengest Munch.
The fresh faced 'chicken connoisseur' visited Thornton Heath in 2017, rating the chicken burger a 4.2 out of 5 in a video viewed over two million times.
Internationally acclaimed and locally raised rapper Stormzy also gave the shop multiple shout-outs, referencing it in his lyrics and promotional photos.
But on Friday January 18 the shop posted a notice on its now boarded up windows, stating that "the premises have been re-possessed by the landowner."
It is unknown what will come of the building at this stage. Croydon Guardian has approached Michael Thomas, the man listed on the notice, for comment.
Stormzy formerly said of Morley's: "I feel like Morley’s is one of the most popular places to get late-night food or a snack.”
He will have to go elsewhere now to satisfy his cravings when on home turf.
