An incredible 31 pupils from Hampton School have received offers from Oxford and Cambridge universities to study subjects including medicine, maths, and natural sciences.

Among them is Matthew Mundy, who received an offer to read Chemistry at Exeter College Oxford.

Matthew is an accomplished musician and actor and played the lead in Hampton and LEH’s joint annual musical, Crazy for You. He said opening the email to hear the good news was fantastic.

“It means a huge amount to get this offer and it is wonderful to see that all my hard work has paid off,” he said.

“My teachers have supported me throughout and it has been particularly rewarding to share the good news with them.”

Fellow musician, Felix Elliott, was thrilled to learn that he had been offered a prestigious Organ Scholarship from Cambridge and four boys, Leo Currie, Thomas Hazell, Dara Sanwal and Fabio Rossi, have been offered places to read PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) at Oxford, following in the footsteps of a host of leading politicians, diplomats and international analysts.

Headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, warmly congratulated the pupils on their achievements: “I am delighted that Hamptonians’ distinctive blend of academic and all-round excellence continues to be so attractive to the world’s leading universities.

“Receiving 31 Oxbridge offers is a marvellous achievement given the ever-increasing competition for places and we are equally pleased that so many boys have secured offers from other prestigious universities in the UK and USA.”

Hampton boys are also receiving offers from a number of other leading educational institutions both at home and abroad and so far have received 66 offers from the global top-10 universities – a figure set to rise even further before the current university offers round ends.
