The man arrested in connection with last week's stabbing on Roundshaw estate has been recalled to prison and remains under investigation.

It is believed the victim, a woman aged in her 50s, was attacked outside a supermarket on Mollison Square last Friday.

A 53-year-old man was arrested on Monday January 14 after attending a police station.

The man has been charged in relation to a separate, serious offence committed in another area. He has been recalled to prison, and remains under investigation in relation to the Roundshaw incident.

Enquiries remain ongoing and officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

A woman who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm was released with no further action.
