Members of the public are invited to a memorial service paying tribute to a dedicated Croydon councillor who died earlier this month.
Councillor Maggie Mansell was one of the longest serving members of Croydon Council, having been first elected in 1986.
Well-wishers are invited to attend a memorial service honouring Maggie’s life at 11.30am on Tuesday January 29. Attendees are asked to be seated by 11.15am.
Reverend Canon Dr Andrew Bishop will lead the service at Croydon Minster on Church Street.
Attendees are asked not to bring flowers, but to make a charity donation to the South East Cancer Help Centre in Purley.
The former Mayor of Croydon died following a short illness.
Councillor Tony Newman, leader of the council, said: “Maggie was a committed and well-liked colleague who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Croydonians.
“She will be sorely missed and our thoughts remain with her friends and family.”
