A man has been arrested at Dartford station after police responded to reports of a man wandering the platform carrying a large knife.
British Transport Police were called to the scene shortly before 1pm and a man was detained for possessing a weapon.
A spokeswoman for BTP has said: "Shortly before 12.45pm today (January 18) officers from British Transport Police and Kent Police were called to Dartford station after reports of a man in possession of a large knife.
"Police officers were quickly on scene and detained a man on the platforms at the station.
"A 23-year-old man (no further details at present) was arrested on possession of an offensive weapon, he is being taken to custody. There are no reported injuries.
"During the arrest a Taser device was drawn but not deployed.
"Anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 231 of 18/01/2019.
"This incident is not currently believed to be terror-related."
