Sutton Council is hoping a digital map for delivery drivers will help to reduce car emissions.

The council has put out a tender call for a company to deliver the project with a budget between £15,000-20,000.

On the London Tenders Portal the description from the council said: “This project is aimed at improving the availability of information on kerbside space to drivers of vehicles being used for deliveries to the commercial premises in and around the town centre.

“Through provision of information in a readily accessible format, drivers should be better informed of the places where they can stop for delivering and any time restrictions that are in place at that location.”

It adds that the information gathered from surveys of the town centres would be put into a digital map.

The ‘expression of interest window’ for potential contractors is set to close on Monday (January 7).
