Christmas is the time when members of the Rotary Club of Twickenham take to the streets of Twickenham, Whitton, and Hanworth to raise funds for the club.

Each year, the club's sleigh hits the streets greeting families. Children get the chance to meet Santa, while people can donate to the Rotary club. This year was no different, as the club was celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Some of the Rotarians collecting were original founding members who collected money to help enable the club to help the local community, local schools, and any natural disasters worldwide.

A spokesperson from the club said: "This annual event is hugely important to the Club and this year despite the dismal weather, and the economic uncertainties of the coming year, the generosity of residents has continued to overwhelm us.

"A total of £8,330 has been raised compared with £8,248 in 2017. We would again like to record our thanks to CPC Battery Services whose batteries light up our sleigh each year."
