Anti-poverty organisation The ONE Campaign are calling for young people in Richmond with a desire to change the world to apply for its 2019 Youth Ambassador programme.

Running for the sixth year, ONE’s prestigious Youth Ambassador scheme is looking for young people from Richmond to join others from around the country.

The Youth Ambassadors receive training in political campaigning and how to highlight development and social issues.

Successful applicants then take part in ONE’s major international campaigns, including gender equality and fighting extreme poverty around the world.

They will directly lobby politicians of all levels – including heading to Parliament to meet with MPs, put on events and take part in major stunts.

Romilly Greenhill, UK Director of ONE, said: “Over the year-long programme, the Youth Ambassadors become some of the most impressive campaigners I’ve ever met.

“2019 is such a crucial year for young people to be politically engaged, and this programme is a great way to start doing that.”

The Youth Ambassador programme will start in January, with the closing date for applications Midnight Thursday 10th January 2019. Applications for the programme should be made online at https://act.one.org/survey/youth-ambassadors-2019-uk
