The Mayor of Elmbridge was among dozens of parents to see a nativity play at Sunny Days Pre School in West Molesey last week.

Councillor Shweta Kapadia said the play was a “testament to how hard the Sunny Days team and the children work and to their parents who support the Pre-School.”

The nativity play was followed by face painting and a raffle with prizes ranging from passes to Wisley Gardens and Hampton Court’s ice rink and hampers donated by John Lewis.

The Mayor of Elmbridge praised the event, saying: “I was delighted to be invited to such a wonderful community event.

“I was amazed to see how the 2, 3, and 4 year olds were able to remember all of their lines and words to the songs, and they all sang wonderfully.

“I attend many functions in my official capacity and to attend one such as this is very refreshing. Supporting events such as these is what makes my job so rewarding.”

Clare Matthews, managing director of Sunny Days Pre School, said: “We are so pleased to have hosted another successful Christmas Nativity play and it was a great honour to have the Mayor of Elmbridge attend.

“I know all of the team at Sunny Days Pre School are very proud to see all of the children’s hard work come to fruition. It has been a very rewarding time for the children following a very successful term.”
