Police are ‘increasingly worried’ about a missing 63 year-old man who was last seen carrying a wallet containing just £10 and no bank cards.

Eugeniusz Werner, who does not have a mobile phone, has only been in the UK for a week and does not speak English.

Mr Werner, from Poland, who is visiting family in the UK for the first time, left the address he is staying at in West Byfleet at around 9am on December 11 to visit Byfleet Recreation park.

He has not been seen since, and his family, who have been searching locally, contacted police yesterday (December 12) when they were unable to find him.

Mr Werner is described as white with a tanned complexion, between 5'8" and 5'10" and heavy build. He has short curly dark brown hair and a distinctive large handlebar moustache.

On his right forearm is a tattoo of an anchor. When he was last seen he was wearing a grey beanie hat, a grey sweater and a dark jacket, blue jeans and black boots.

He has glasses for reading but police are not clear whether he has them with him.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “Officers are getting increasingly worried as he does not speak English, does not know the area, has little money with him and we believe he is not dressed for the current cold weather.

“We are currently searching the West Byfleet area, and you may notice an increased police presence as a result.”
