The Ikea planning studio, designed to help customers plan and order bedrooms and kitchens, will replace Mothercare in the spring of 2019.

Jane Bisset, Ikea’s market leader in London, said: “The opening of our new planning studio in Bromley will mark the next exciting step in our city centre approach as we bring Ikea to the heart of urban areas in London.

“Following the successful launch of our first planning studio on Tottenham Court Road, we are committed to giving customers the choices they need and understand the role we can play in helping people plan bigger projects in the home.

“We are looking forward to opening our doors to the people of Bromley and providing the expert advice you’d expect from Ikea, alongside a great service package and delivery offer.”

Bromley High Street also welcomed the supermarket Lidl last month.

It opened on November 29 with 40 jobs being created in the area.

Henry Neel, Lidl’s regional head of property, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Bromley town centre.

“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
