A selfless Bromley boy has inspired people as far as Dubai and New Zealand with his Christmas mission to help child domestic abuse victims.

Dominic Owen, eight, from Bromley Common, is offering kids in refuges pyjamas and books for the second consecutive year to spread festive cheer.

His proud mum Danielle told News Shopper: "He teaches me a life lesson or two.

"When he feels a little sad, he likes to put on pyjamas and read a book. That’s where it comes from.

"He just thought of what other children might want. He presumed loads would be donating toys already so he appealed for pyjamas."

News Shopper:

Mum Danielle knew a friend who worked in Women’s Aid, and shortly after Dominic helped deliver 500 donations to the charity on Christmas Eve.

The determined youngster is hoping for bigger and better this year.

"We have had stuff from New Zealand and Dubai, and Belgian brands are sending some stuff," Danielle said.

"It shows how far social media can spread in a good way. Dom is quite surprised, last year was more contained to the UK."

Danielle praised her son’s school La Fontaine Academy which is storing the donations.

She added: "The headteacher Sebastien Chapleau is amazing and is always boosting him and telling him what a good job he is doing.

"So many people have been amazing in sharing his story. He has had so many lovely messages."
