The motorcyclist who died in a crash in Croydon on Thursday has been named as Chryso Valandes Theophani, a 23-year-old.
Mr Theophani, from Norbury Hill, Lambeth, died at the scene after crashing with a car on Beulah Hill, at the junction with Grecian Crescent.
A post-mortem is due to take place on Tuesday, 11 December.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted officers with their enquiries.
Police are now appealing for anyone else who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Detective Constable Clay O’Neill, from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “We are keen to establish exactly what happened on Thursday afternoon and I know a number of other drivers were on the road around the time of the collision.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 with CAD reference 3652/06DEC.”
