Croydon boxing hero Joshua Buatsi has partnered with Nike to offer youngsters a chance to break into the fitness industry through a free training camp.

Fifty people will be offered the chance to embark upon a bespoke 16-week Training Camp, free of charge, to obtain a Nike London Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and take their first steps into the world of professional fitness.

Olympian Buatsi will be helping host and deliver the camp, alongside Nike trainers, coaches and elite athletes at the newly refurbished Croydon boxing academy.

It will be Nike’s only PT qualification in the world, exclusively available to young people living in the borough of Croydon.

A spokesperson for Nike said: "The programme is part of Nike’s commitment to making Croydon the epicentre of Training in London, to inspire young people in the area and create the next generation of passionate London based trainers and coaches."

An impressive building length mural of the boxer was painted on Holmesdale Road, Selhurst, to promote the initiative.

Buatsi, born in Ghana but raised in Croydon, won bronze at the Rio de Janeiro olympic games.

To apply to be a part of this free 16-week Nike Training Camp, applicants can sign-up now via the Nike website: https://www.nike.com/events-registration/series?id=4776&days=-1
