A Sutton nursing home is opening its doors to the community in a bid to tackle loneliness this festive season.

Gracewell of Sutton, in Westmead Road, is hosting a series of events from December 8 right up until Christmas Eve.

The calendar includes musical performances, including one from the RAF Squadron Choir, entertainment from a magician, and an all-day Christmas jumper “bonanza”.

Its aim is to help those who face the prospect of spending this season alone find something to do in the company of others.

Dean Champion, activities coordinator at Gracewell of Sutton, said: “We’re getting ready for a busy Christmas season at Gracewell of Sutton, and look forward to welcoming new friends to our home to ensure it is one full of happiness and fulfilment for all.”
