A revolted Croydon mother found a blue medical plaster baked inside of a supermarket donut.

Stephanie Bryan, 28, discovered the offending object as she bit into a Morrisons raspberry donut delivered to her home earlier that day.

She was sharing the packet with her son Karlo, 2, and daughter Asia-Rose, 7, whose pastries were fortunately filled exclusively with jam.

Ms Bryan, a housing association receptionist, said: "I took a bite out of the donut and felt something odd. At first I was just confused, as it was a flattened circle shape.

"Once I took it out and unfolded it, realising it was, I instantly vomited.

"My daughter was shocked and a bit worried. I grabbed the donuts out of her and Karlo's hands and chucked them in the bin straight away."

The removed plaster

Fearing the potential health complications contact with a contaminated plaster could cause, Ms Bryan spoke to NHS staff who advised her to have a blood test in case of infection.

"I called Morrisons, who passed the buck, telling me that since I ordered my shopping through Amazon I need to speak to them," she said.

"Amazon told me to contact NHS direct to put my mind at rest. Now I'm waiting around to have a blood test. Blood infections won't show up immediately so I'm stuck wondering if I'm ok or not."

Ms Bryan is yet to receive a proper explanation from Morrisons, who say they are 'investigating with the customer.'

Ms Bryan couldn't tell what it was initially

The explanation for the plaster's presence is unknown at this stage, as is whether this is an issue other Morrison's products could be affected by.

Ms Bryan added: "I just want people to be aware that this happens. Check your food. You take it for granted. These big companies need to be accountable.

"Something dodgy is going on in their kitchens. I assumed they wear gloves."

Ms Bryan has also been in touch with the food standard agency (FSA), who are arranging for a environmental officer to test the plaster for contamination.
