An Earlsfield corner shop will soon look a lot different after its owner decided to call it a day.

Quality Foods has operated out of Garratt Lane for more than a decade, but will soon be turned into a fitness studio after the shop owner announced their retirement.

But the decision wasn't made lightly.

As part of the planning application for the new studio, one document read that the "vendors’ agents have had the property on the market for a very long time and received no interest from anyone wanting to operate the property as a convenience store or any other type of retail shop."

As a result, Enhance Fitness opted to try its luck and has now been granted permission by Wandsworth Council to move in.

In the application it described the fitness company as providing a "mixture of personal training and class sessions, with twice weekly sessions per person expected" as well as a sportswear shop.

The studio will only be allowed to operate from 7am to 8pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
