A new supermarket will open in Twickenham next week (November 28) following £1 million investment from Co-Op.
The new store, which is located on Hampton Road, will create 15 full and part-time jobs and offer a wide range of groceries.
The store brings a funding boost locally through Co-op’s Membership scheme – members receive a 5 percent reward on the purchase of own-brand products and services, with Co-op donating a further 1 percent to causes. Causes in the area currently benefitting include: Down's Syndrome Association, Off The Record Twickenham, The Vineyard Community Centre – with Co-op members able to choose which group they would like to support online.
Myat Suu Wynn, Co-op store manager said: “We are delighted to have undertaken such a significant investment in Twickenham and are very proud to be part of this community.”
Anuj Christi, Co-op area manager, added: “The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum, and our ambition is to ensure the store is a local hub for people living in the area.
“We also want shoppers to know that they can become a co-owner and member of their Co-op. Our members make a difference locally and simply by swiping their membership card when they shop with us, they are raising much needed funding for organisations who contribute to improving local life.”
