A woman has been arrested in connection with several robberies which have been committed across east Surrey - while another man remains at large.
Police say the 35-year-old suspect, from Leatherhead, was detained yesterday (November 15) on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice following the incidents.
It comes as there were three robberies which took place last week, with one of them happening at Headley Village Stores in Epsom shortly after 5pm on November 8.
A robbery was committed at Betchey Butchers in Redhill at around 4.40pm on November 6, while there was an attempted robbery at Capel Newsagents in The Street, Dorking, at 7.20am on November 8.
The woman arrested yesterday has been released under investigation, according to police.
However, the force is still trying to track down Joseph Barnes, a 35-year-old man from Dorking, in connection with the incidents.
Officers have described him as white, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes, and is roughly 5ft 10 inches tall.
He is said to have multiple tattoos of writing on the right side of both his neck and arms.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: “On November 10 a 33-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of robbery following the three incidents.
“He was bailed in connection with these incidents whilst enquiries remain ongoing and he has since been recalled to prison for breaching the conditions of his licence.
“On November 13 a 33-year-old man, from Guildford, was arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
Anyone who knows where Joseph Barnes is, or has any information which could help police in finding him, is asked to contact Surrey Police “immediately”.
This is on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
