The Ivy Café teamed up with charity The Poppy Factory to create an installation of 1,000 poppies which were displayed outside.

The Hill Street cafe, also gave a charitable donation to The Poppy Factory as a start of an ongoing partnership to help raise awareness for the local organisation.

Deirdre Mills, Chief Executive of The Poppy Factory, said: “We are so grateful to The Ivy Café, Richmond for supporting The Poppy Factory in this way.

“This partnership will further strengthen our links with the local community in Richmond while helping to raise awareness of our work supporting wounded, injured and sick veterans to get back into work all over the UK.”

The Poppy Factory provides support across England and Wales for ex-service veterans suffering physical or mental health challenges.

The charity also employs around 30 veterans at its factory in Richmond; producing Remembrance poppies for the Royal Family and The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The installation was displayed from November 6-14, with the restaurant also serving a special Poppy Afternoon Tea in collaboration with The Poppy Factory, available throughout the rest of the month.
