For the second time in two weeks, a Wetherspoons pub in south London is closing.
This time it is Balham that will lose a boozer.
On November 4, the White Lion of Mortimer in Mitcham handed over its keys to another brewing company so that the pub would hopefully live on.
But spokesman for Wetherspoons, Eddie Gershon, confirmed The Moon Under Water in Balham High Road would not be so lucky.
“The final day of trading is Sunday November 11," he said.
“There will be no staff redundancies.
"All staff will be transferred to other Wetherspoon pubs in the area.
“This is one of our oldest pubs and we have taken the decision not to renew the lease.
“We would like to thank our customers for their loyalty over the years and to our staff for their hard work and dedication.”
