The Coca-Cola truck is coming to Croydon this Christmas.

The famous festive lorry will finish a nationwide tour in our very own borough.

Over the last eight years, the tour has seen thousands of Christmas fans visit the vehicle. It has travelled over 737,000 miles – the equivalent of 29 times around the world – twinkling its 8,772 fairy lights and playing the ‘Holidays are Coming’ jingle.

Now in its eighth year, the tour will kick off in Glasgow on the 9th November – visiting 14 towns and cities nationwide during the festive season - before making its final stop in Croydon on December 15-16 at Valley Retail & Leisure Park.

Explaining how Croydon was chosen for the finale, a Coca-Cola spokesperson said: "We try to cover as much of the country as we can.

"We update the route every year, making sure we visit locations which are easily accessible from the surrounding areas.”

Often said to mark the official start of Christmas and a regular feature of the festive TV schedule, the famous ‘Holidays Are Coming’ advert will also return to UK screens, 23 years since first being aired.

Alec Mellor, Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Great Britain said: “Christmas is all about sharing festive goodwill with friends and loved ones – and we can’t wait to start spreading holiday cheer across the UK with the return of our iconic red truck."
