A Purley care home is holding a 'Poppy Party' in remembrance of those who died serving in the armed forces.

Sunrise of Purley, on Russell Hill Road, are holding a ‘Purley Poppy Party’ to honour those who lost their lives fighting for Great Britain.

Their celebratory afternoon is taking place on November 8 and will begin at 3:00 pm.

The community will be welcoming the “Swingtime Sweethearts” for a wonderful musical performance as well as enjoying a fun quiz, delicious afternoon tea and sumptuous homemade poppy cupcakes.

The Poppy Party will give the Sunrise of Purley residents an afternoon to remember those who tragically lost their lives, but also to remember past eras the residents lived through.

Join Sunrise of Purley to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the contribution of all the British and Commonwealth military and civilian service men and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

Sunrise of Purley will have Poppies on sale to raise money for The Royal British Legion. To book your place at this Sunrise of Purley event, call 0203 871 3018.
