A 25-year-old man who was arrested by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) in Cheam has been released under investigation.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Upper Mulgrave Road at around 4.40am last Sunday (November 4).

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said the suspect was arrested on suspicion of GBH and was taken into custody at a nearby police station.

She added he was later released under investigation as enquiries continue.

The area in and around Upper Mulgrave Road was cordoned off by police for hours before the road was later reopened later that afternoon.
