Around 350 pupils and staff have been evacuated after a fire broke out at a school.
The London Fire Brigade sent 35 firefighters to Cheam Common Infants’ Academy, in Balmoral Road, shortly before 1.30pm today (November 2).
A spokesman said a small part of the school’s loft space was damaged but there were no reported injuries.
In total, 300 pupils and 50 staff members were taken to safety as a precaution.
Firefighters were on the scene for more than an hour as the blaze was deemed under control by 2.40pm.
The spokesman added the cause of the fire is under investigation.
