A teenager was stabbed multiple times in a Croydon park on Sunday (October 28).

Police were called to South Norwood Recreational Ground, Tennison Road, at around 5.50pm.

Officers found an 18-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds, who was then taken to a south London hospital.

His injuries were non-life-threatening.

No arrests have yet been made in relation to the incident.

Two years ago, 21-year-old David Darko died from stab wounds in the same park.

On the evening of January 24 2016, he was found unresponsive, lying near the children's playground.

Darnell Martin, 19, was found guilty of his murder later that year.

Less than a mile away, on Albert Road, Kelva Smith was stabbed to death in March this year.

Last week Tyrone Farquharson, 20, of Archer Road, South Norwood, was convicted at the Old Bailey after four days of jury deliberations.

The court heard how a dispute over a motorbike stolen by Mr Smith escalated into an assault, with Farquharson stabbing Mr Smith multiple times with a 'rambo' style knife.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 17:50hrs on Sunday, 28 October to reports of a stabbing in South Norwood Recreational Ground, Tennison Road, SE25.

"Officers attended and searched the area. An 18-year-old man was found suffering from multiple stab wounds.

"He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life threatening or life changing.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."
