The marked police car, which crashed into a pedestrianised central reservation on Horse Fair in Kingston this week, was responding to an emergency call.

Photos published on social media show the car smashed into a low wall, with bricks scattered around it and a police cordon.

The Met Police confirmed the incident happened at around 1.08pm on October 23.

A police spokeswoman added: “A marked police car responding to an emergency call on blue lights collided with the central reservation on Horse Fair, Kingston.

“There were no reported injuries and the car has since been removed”.
