A person was taken to hospital with smoke related injuries, after reports of a storage building fire in Leatherhead today (October 9.)

South East Coast Ambulance confirmed they attended reports of a fire on Headley Road following a call at around 11.15am. 

Four people were treated from smoke inhalation, and one person was taken to Epsom Hospital.

Photos shared on social media show at least six gas cylinders standing next to the storage building, which caught fire today.

A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called at around 10.40am to a fire in a building in Headley Road, Leatherhead. We sent seven fire engines, a water carrier and an aerial ladder to extinguish the fire and left at around 1.10pm.”

In a Facebook post, Painshill Fire Station unofficial wrote: “Crews were mobilised just after 1030am this morming, and on arrival found a storage building well alight with gas cylinders involved.
