Reservoir Dogs director Quentin Tarantino was at Wimbledon Greyhound track last night to promote his new flick Death Proof.

The 44-year-old, famous for his films Kill Bill, Sin City and Pulp Fiction, was at the Plough Lane track for a celebrity banger race.

Celebrity competitors included X Factor winner Shayne Ward, Leeds band the Pigeon Detectives and former Busted star Charlie Simpson with his new group Fightstar.

But it was 22-year-old Manchester pop signer Ward who beat the competition and was presented with his award by the Tennessee director.

As well as promoting Death Proof the event was staged to advertise Sky Movies.

A Sky Movies spokeswoman said: "Quentin had a really good time. He even got sprayed with champagne by Shayne at the end. It was a bit different from a normal premiere but it was Quentin's style."
