A one-year-old girl was rushed to hospital in Addiscombe yesterday after being taken ill following a fall at home.

The London Ambulance Service was called to a medical surgery on Addiscombe Road in the afternoon.

An air ambulance was dispatched, but the girl was taken to hospital as a priority by road.

A Met police spokesperson said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to a medical surgery in Addiscombe Road, Croydon at around 16:16hrs on Monday, 8 October to reports of a child taken ill following a fall at home.

"The child, a one-year-old female, was taken to a south London hospital by London's Air Ambulance.

"The circumstances around the child’s illness are not suspicious."

A London Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 4:10pm yesterday (08 October) to Addiscombe Road, Croydon to reports of an incident.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene including an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

“We took a baby as a priority to hospital by road."
