A 35-year-old man died last Friday (October 5), after falling from the roof of a car park near the Whitgift centre just two weeks after a woman died having fallen from a car park nearby.
Police were called to a car park on Poplar Walk at around 9.35pm to a report that a man had fallen from a roof.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service to find a 35-year-old man unresponsive in the car park.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.13pm. The death is being treated as unexplained.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 9:37pm on 5 October to Poplar Walk, Croydon to reports of an incident.
"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.
“Sadly, a person died at the scene."
Two weeks before, on September 28, a woman believed to be in her 50s died having fallen from a car park on Wellesley Road, just a two-minute walk from Poplar Walk.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene at around 10.30am, finding a woman injured.
Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead on the scene.
