A "modern approach to Lebanese cooking" could soon be coming to Wimbledon.

For months now, The Broadway's Chimichanga has been vacant.

But a recently submitted planning application might just change that.

The plans would see the red and green signage that currently occupies the building, as well as the wooden panels, done away with in favour of "more sleek and aluminium framed shop front" for a kebab house.

"We believe the new shop front design is an improvement of the current design and this modern approach to Lebanese cooking will be welcomed and enjoyed by customers," the application read.

"We hope 'Kababji' will contribute and be supported by Merton Council and that our use of materials and high-end interior and exterior design will help improve the streetscape."

There is no word yet on what times the new store would open, or even what exactly it would sell.
