These pictures and video show how firefighters in Esher reportedly spent the afternoon rescuing a horse in Esher yesterday (September 20).

Animal rescue teams from Esher, Painshill and Godstone fire stations are said to have spent over 5 hours moving the mare called Ziggy, after she had collapsed in her yard.

The Surrey Comet believes Ziggy was sedated and moved to a nearby field so she could be lifted back up.
