Sutton has the third-highest percentage of pupils achieving above their expected standards in London at the end of Key Stage 2, new official figures have revealed.
Kensington and Chelsea ranks first at 21 percent, slightly ahead of Richmond (20), before the borough (18) comes in at third overall.
When looking at KS2 students who are meeting their expected standard, Sutton is tied in third with Bromley and Hammersmith and Fulham at 74 percent.
The provisional data, published by the Department for Education (DfE) and Standards Testing Agency (STA) on September 8, also shows the differences between boys and girls.
It highlights that 20 percent of girls are reaching a higher standard in their results compared with 15 percent of boys.
And 79 percent of girls reached their expected standards compared with 69 percent of boys – out of 2,297 eligible pupils in Sutton.
The statistics, which look at schools across England, show attainment levels at the end of KS2 national curriculum assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Nationwide, the percentage of pupils reaching their expected standard has risen year-on-year since 2016 – jumping from 53 percent two years ago to 64 percent in 2018.
