While on a walk with his grandchildren, a man was robbed at knifepoint by a pair of moped riders.
The 60-year-old victim and his family were in Southside Common on Saturday (September 15) when he was approached by two men on a moped.
The moped passenger pulled out a knife and made threats towards the man's grandchildren.
The victim threw the watch to the ground and the robbers picked it up and rode off towards the Raynes Park area.
No one was injured and there was no physical contact.
But if being robbed at knifepoint while with your grandchildren wasn't bad enough, it turns out the Christopher Ward watch was a gift, with an inscription on the back reading "happy 60th birthday."
No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
