Brockley residents have been urged to support local businesses after the unexpected closure of a restaurant.
Norbert Restaurant in Mantle Road had only been open for six months but it has shut up shop and deleted all its social media accounts.
The admin for the community group We Are SE23 said the restaurant closed because of “sudden and unforeseen circumstances” but no further information has been made public.
Heartbreaking to see a business of such quality close down. We are saddened that things didn't go to plan for our friend Luca who worked so hard at making Norbert restaurant a success.

Bottle Bar and Shop, a cocktail business in Catford’s Broadway, took to Twitter after the “heartbreaking” news.
They wrote: “Heartbreaking to see a business of such quality close down. We are saddened that things didn’t go to plan for our friend Luca who worked so hard at making Norbert restaurant a success."
The cocktail makers then encouraged locals to “think before you shop” and to eat and drink nearby.
One customer wrote on Twitter: “It really is heartbreaking if a local Biz has to shut down through lack of support. I really liked Norberts and don’t understand why they didn’t get enough people through the doors. It’s a beautiful space.”
News Shopper has contacted the restaurant but has not yet heard back.
