Abseiling down a 227-foot building isn't in Asmini Mehta's job description, but this coming Friday that is exactly what she will be doing.

The Colliers Wood woman works in sales and marketing for KPMG and has decided to scale the very building she calls home five days a week, all to raise money for the NSPCC.

"I’m choosing to support the NSPCC because I’m from a single parent family myself and believe all children should have an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed in life regardless of their background or personal circumstance," Asmini said.

"I chose abseiling because I thought it would be an exciting way to raise awareness about the charity and it’s something I’ve not done before."

She set her sights on raising £200, and with less than a week remaining until her descent, she has nearly cracked that mark.

Asmini is hopeful that some mental strength will help her conquer the challenge.

"I wouldn’t say I love heights," she said.

"I’ll definitely feel reluctant and scared once at the top, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to use some ‘mind over matter’ mentality and support from my colleagues to get me going."
